The place was very nice. Old building. Had an issue with the AC, host was super quick to respond and very helpful! Location is excellent.
Our recent 5-night stay at this Boston Airbnb was a mixed. Despite its convenient location near Boston Commons, our overall experience faced several significant issues. The most frustrating problem was the broken air conditioning, for our entire stay. With 81 degrees at night, sleeping was incredibly uncomfortable. Despite notifying the host promptly, they cited "scheduling difficulties" and failed to send maintenance, leaving us to endure the heat. Upon arrival, we discovered the bathtub drain was clogged, leaving us unable to shower after a long journey. Disgustingly, we had to spend significant time and effort to use a toilet plugger to suction dirty chucks of hair and drain sewage out ourself. Kitchen was notably smaller than advertised, making meal preparation cramped. This discrepancy was misleading/fraudulent. Adding to our frustrations, a poorly placed shelf in the walkway between the kitchen and living room posed a safety hazard. Both my parents and I hit our heads on it.
This apartment was perfect for a Boston trip with my young child and my mother. The location is probably the best you're going to get in Boston - across the street from the Common and Public Garden, a minute or less walking to two train lines, and plenty of options for morning coffee and food nearby (we visited nearby Roche Bros grocery store 3 times on our 4 day trip). I had stayed in a different unit in the building previously, so I knew the building was older and that street noise might be an issue when sleeping (I needed ear plugs as my sound machine wasn't cutting it). Most importantly, I needed a wall between myself and my snoring mother, and this apartment provided that at a fair price and with real beds - no sleeping on a sofa. There was also plenty of room to open up luggage and spread out.
