Our room and building were changed last minute- the afternoon that we were checking in. We checked in without a problem, but upon arrival the apartment had an industrial fan and dehumidifier going, and floor boards in the living room were buckling and pulled up. The air conditioning was non-functional. The bathroom sink didn't have hot water- the handle was broken off and sitting next to the sink. So, initial impression was that the place is falling apart. The space was larger than expected, and perfect for our needs for a quick one night stay. Location was convenient and central, though loud with the windows open (necessary since A/C was out). Check out process was easy and smooth.
First you told me that your reservation system was having an issue, so you couldn't send out access info within 3 days. Then you told me I'd receive access info the night before I was to arrive. Never received it. Then when I pinged you on the day I was to arrive, you told me the previous tenants trashed the place. When you spoke with AirBnB, you stated that there was a water leak. Word of advice: Be honest with your tenants. You should have told me 3 days before my arrival that you would have to cancel it, so I had time to find another alternative. Instead, an hour before I had to jump on a plane, I had to scramble and find another place at the last minute, which costed me an additional $200. Then, when I tried to get a refund, you guys went dark on me for a week and didn't respond whatsoever. I eventually had to contact AirBnB to resolve this issue. This is BY FAR the worst AirBnB experience I've had and I've rented over 50 places over the last 8 years with AirBnB.
AVOID!!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!!!!!! Should I start with the dried blood on the linens? Or the body hair on the sheets left from the previous guests? Beyond gross. The toilet overflowed as soon as we arrived. Also gross. The washer and dryer advertised are in the basement of the building - not in the apartment as advertised. Oh, and they didn’t work anyway. The lock for the outside of the building was broken so we couldn’t even get in the place. The location? Let’s just say it’s not real safe. When I booked this stay, this apartment was the only one left in the downtown area. Now I know why. We gambled and lost with this stay. Sharing this review so it doesn’t happen to others.
