This place was literally overlooking the Boston Commons. It was an ideal location, and the green, red, and orange lines of the T were all within two blocks. The location made it easy for our large family to explore the Boston area--easy to split up and later meet back up and also walkable to so many things. The apartment is in an old building. I thought it was charming, but I like old things. It was adequately decorated, and the beds and even the spare mattress were comfy. The kitchen was tiny and would be pretty difficult to actually prepare meals in because there is literally no counter space. If you simply need to store some things in the fridge, heat up things, and make some coffee, you're good to go!
The unit itself was nice and clean. The bathroom was outdated, but clean. However, the building was extremely outdated and dirty. Elevators were filthy and scary, at best. The doormen were very unhelpful, unfriendly, and sleeping much of the time. Again, the unit itself was nice and as described. Location was great.
Our stay in Boston was amazing! The room was clean and well stocked with what we needed for a few days. The natural light from the three windows was wonderful. You are in the city so there can be some loud noises on the street, but the A/C unit was running most of the night & served as a white noise so we never had trouble sleeping.
