This apartment is a great place for 4 venturesome people. It is in the middle of most historical sites that Boston is known for and has convenient proximity to 3 T stations: Green (diagonally across the street), Orange (China Town, steps away) and Red line in a 5 minute walk. The building, originally built in 1897 as a hotel, retains its Victorian details. The renovation/s provide 1 quiet bedroom (no TV sound penetrated; separately controlled HV unit) and another big bed in the main room. Furniture is modern & comfortable; Large TV The normal big city noise of horns honking, motors revving and people raving did not bother us "dead to the world" sleepers, but may be a total turnoff about this location for others who really need quiet to rest well. There were some small missing items like a toilet paper roller, but all in all it was great place for a very active 80 year old w/ a teenage grandson!! AND we felt very safe on the 5th floor: security downstairs and good electronic locks.
We had a wonderful time at this location in room 514. So close to everything. We had hoped to see the fireworks on July 4th from our room, but they were half blocked, so we went downstairs and watched from the sidewalk. We had a lot of fun.
