The apartment was not the same as in the listing – only similar. For example, the listing showed a bathroom with a bathtub, but in reality there was none, which was important for me traveling with three kids. Towels and cutlery were provided upon request, but the leaking shower was never fixed despite asking twice. On hot days, both bedrooms are noisy due to a large ventilation unit right outside the windows. The biggest issue occurred halfway through our monthly stay, when the gas supply to our apartment was shut off. That meant no stove, oven, dryer, or hot water for a full week. Despite many messages, the host only sent generic replies and delayed the repair until the final day of Airbnb’s deadline. We later learned the gas had been intentionally turned off at the meter, while other apartments still had service. I never got a reliable and clear answer to my questions: why? Airbnb agreed to a refund, but overall I was very disappointed with the host’s handling of the situation.
