I’m conflicted on how to write this review, because it has the potential of being an awesome property but it’s not there yet. When my husband, my 2 cats, and myself were staying here it looked like a half done apartment. There were boxes & furniture that filled up the deck (which made it unusable), the couch leg was broken, and the paint job was unfinished. There was also construction EVERY single day of our month long stay. We even got a ticket due to the construction workers blocking the parking & forcing us to park on the street. They constantly had to move for us, and we had to move our car for them… it was very annoying. We also contacted the host company to fix the couch three times and they never came … we ended up pulling in a cinderblock from outside to prop the couch up. Also, the smoke alarm in the bedroom is really sensitive. I straightened my hair in the room and it set it off twice. Alright. Onto the good things (because there were a lot of good things!) -LOCATION: was fantastic. Our friends that lived in the area told us Dorchester isn’t the best area but we had no problems with it. The best part? It was a two minute walk to the Red line (and a Dunkin’ Donuts!). It also had great restaurants nearby & a target down the street. -PROPERTY: there was so much space in the apartment. The master room was huge and the bed was really comfortable. Pillows were a bit soft, though. The kitchen was also very spacious, which made it perfect to cook in. There was also parking in the back which made us feel comfortable leaving our car while we took public transit. There was also a laundry facility in the basement, so that was nice. -AMENITIES: there were enough pots, pans, and utensils for our stay. I was really excited about the Nespresso maker! They also loaded up the kitchen with spices, oils, and plenty of coffee. There was also plenty of towels, blankets, shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Another thing that was cool was that the Wi-Fi went out one day and my husband works at home, so we freaked out. We contacted the host company and they instantly went to work in the situation. They gave us a lot of options and even offered to pay for our hotspot. So a big plus for that. All in all this location will be PERFECT once it’s completed, but before that I wouldn’t book longer than a quick vacation.
This place was ok for the price. It wasn’t cheap, but relative to Boston prices it was less expensive than other private places we saw. That being said, doesn’t excuse some minor issues such as it could have been cleaner (we found a corner with dried dog pee). It also was missing a dresser or just more surface space in general. There was no drawer to put clothes in, just hangers in the closets, and no where to put anything in the bathroom. Overall, I give it 3 stars. Not the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in by far but it got the job done. It was spacious at least and had good parking.
This place was great!!!!! Great location and very clean ! I will be staying again! Also they have great communication!!!
