just as described, this apartment is walking distance from everything. great place to stay
Location, location, location! Right across the street from Boston Common and a subway stop, this spot was the perfect home base for our family with tweens to explore Boston for a few days. One day we walked over to the start of the Freedom Trail and walked all the way up to the USS Constitution and another day we walked to the Public Gardens and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors of October. We also walked to dinner every night because there’s so much nearby. Great bang for your buck. You won’t find any hotels in this area for a comparable price, and definitely nothing that also includes a kitchen. Even though we enjoyed several of Boston’s yummy restaurants, it was great to be able to make our own meals occasionally and not have to rush out for breakfast first thing every morning. There’s a Starbucks downstairs and a CVS eighth across the street. There is a queen size bed and two couches, one that folds out into a bed, so the sleeping arrangements were easy and that fold out couch was much more comfortable than I was expecting. The apartment was cute and cozy and we would definitely stay here again! To address some other reviews, yes, the street noise is certainly present, but you’re in a big city so that’s to be expected. We weren’t bothered by it though because the AC in the apartment offered enough steady white noise to drown it out pretty well. We also brought with us a small white noise machine based on other reviews, but I think we may have even been fine without it. Also, yes, there are some cracks in the ceiling and some paint chipping in the shower, but Boston is one of the oldest cities in the country and this is an older building, so again, what do you expect? Older buildings have character. This apartment has obviously been updated and was very cute and well appointed. The tile in the shower could stand to be addressed, but it didn’t affect the shower itself, pressure was good and it drained well, and the bathroom was clean and comfortable. Our stay here was wonderful and I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone wanting to easily explore the city of Boston with a comfortable place to return to each night!
The tv is great. The unit is spacious, and the high ceilings are fantastic. The two mismatched couches are an odd choice, but there is enough room that they aren't really a problem. The view is fine - You can see Boston Common from the living room, which is cool, but most of the view is the building across the street. The bathroom is just ok. Has some 'deferred maintenance', but it isn't too small and the counter/stool/shower were clean.
