By far the worst Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. This company is a NIGHTMARE I strongly urge people to stay far away 😳. We were broken into & robbed while out of the apartment, and came home to needles & beers left around our apartment, all our our belongings ransacked and bags dumped ALL over the place, Tylenol bottles emptied and spilled everywhere, and my brand new LAPTOP & a bunch of our clothes STOLEN. We were shook & devastated honestly scared we could’ve had our toddler kids there or been sleeping an assaulted! When I called Evonify to report the break in and theft it turned out multiple units had attempted breakins from a houseless person in the area and the guy from Evonify actually weirdly said to me during our first phone convo “oh... I think I may know who did this...” and said he would have the computer back to me shortly. HUH??? I was basically in shock like you’re really telling me you KNOW who did this and you didn’t do anything to prevent it? To be clear, We did lock and close our door before leaving (which is on a code that Evonify told me themselves can be changed easily 🤦🏻♀️). But Mind you this building has a sign in sheet and concierge, so no one should even be able to be walking around trying to break into these apartments! He promised me I would get my computer back or a brand new one, as well as a full refund for the entire stay. About 10 minutes later we get a knock on the door and this dudes standing there with my computer in a bag. He peeks it out the bag and goes “this yours?” I said “yes and who are you...?” Dude verbatim says to me “I’m the guy that’s bringing you your stuff back... I traded it for 2 bumps.... you want it or not”. I’m like Whaaaat the f*** This is CRAZY But I take my stuff and start contacting Evonify again to figure out how to resolve everything else. I tell them we don’t feel safe staying there for our last night and They say there’s nowhere else they can put us up. He then falls out of communication for the entire night. And for DAYS afterwards, including not responding to my request for refund. He then starts getting into it with me about how he won’t refund anything but the last night that we left, despite promising a full refund given the extreme violation that occurred. He THEN tells me that I’m making stories up and am “hostile”, that the guy who brought my computer back was his BROTHER and not a dealer from the corner we were above despite his familiarity with the people who stole our stuff and the fact that he traded drugs for the laptop and that my door was left “WIDE” open which it most definitely was not. I honestly couldn’t believe the lack of professionalism from this guy. Like not bringing the sheets, towels and cooking utensils as requested and being MIA for the first couple days of our stay was one thing but allowing all this to happen and then refusing to send a refunded as promised is just ridiculous. To this day he refuses my refund and I can’t get anywhere with Airbnb about it.
