For the price, this location can’t be beat! Right across from Boston Common and the Green line, and only a short walk to the Red line, this location is perfect if you’re hoping to stay in the center of it all without a huge price tag. The place is no-frills, but all the essentials are in place. The building is older and the common areas are a little shabby, but the other residents were quiet and I always felt safe. The room itself was clean, cool, and fresh-smelling — a great respite from the big city. It IS noisy — a small and expected price to pay to be in the middle of it all. We had a very comfortable three nights and loved the spot. I love Boston and was so happy to walk almost everywhere from Newberry Street to Back Bay to Beacon Hill and even the North End is only a 20 minute walk. The host was responsive and organized. Very appreciated.
Overall disappointed. The one thing that saved our stay was the location. This location is so close to all the main attractions and easy to navigate. The unit is much older than the photos look. It definitely needs some updating (mostly in the bathroom) and floors could have been cleaner. The AC was not working and we notified the host the first day and it never got fixed. They were slow to communicate and did not offer a solution (bringing us a fan would have been nice). They told us maintenance was contacted and they never showed. We had to reach back out to ask if they had come or were coming and they said they didn’t know and would contact them again. I don’t think maintenance was ever notified in the first place. Thank goodness the weather was mild so it was tolerable at best. We could have stayed at a nice hotel for the price of this airbnb. We ended up getting a partial refund, thanks to Airbnb support. Wouldn’t stay with Evonify again.
Great location and spotless!
