First: we really enjoyed our stay. The location is amazing. We were doing a combination of vacation and college visits, and this place was perfect for our family of four. There are plenty of great restaurants around, which is good, because the kitchen is very small and tough to use. We thought we’d cook, but prep and clean up space is so limited it made it hard to want to cook. The living space is ample, and we let the kids have the living room bed. The bathroom is minuscule. With the awesome location comes a lot of noise—sirens and cars blasting music around the clock. Luckily, we aren’t light sleepers. This is a “corporate” kind of rental—nice and clean, but not much personality if that’s something you care about.
Location, location, location. If you’re touring the city, this is an excellent location, near two subway lines. Walkable area with lots of history nearby. The building had multiple repairmen in it but the elevator was sketchy and the entry door as well. The laundry room could use some love. As far as the apartment, aside from a dust ball in the main room and the plate with crumbs that was buried in the cabinet, it was clean. The view of Boston Common was excellent. There was a lot of noise from traffic though. Lots of trucks that were audible at night. We had to work hard to properly close the windows (which were ever so slightly cracked when we arrived). Once we sealed the windows the noise lessened but it was still noticeable. We did feel like we had privacy. I would stay here again but perhaps with slightly more realistic expectations of what an “inexpensive” downtown apartment means.
Right in the heart of Boston. Walking distance to great restaurants, hotels, parks, cafes and shops. Throughly enjoyed our stay there!
